We can't forget why we Stand Tall for All.

Extremism is rampant, infecting our state politics with the far-right priorities of national Republicans, and dragging our communities down. When SCOTUS gave Donald Trump unprecedented legal protection this week we saw what happens when national Republicans lead the policy agenda: they ingrain extremist power.

On this day, 248 years ago, our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence with the dream of a nation led by the people, not a monarch. Together we have stood for that dream and improved our nation, but we must continue that tradition today.

Whether through community involvement, voting, or simply talking to friends and neighbors, every action impacts our country. So, we Stand Tall for All to defend the rule of law and stop far-right extremists from corrupting the country that we have fought so hard to build.

The stakes are high, but that's why we are Standing Tall for All. Thank you for supporting our campaign and for standing against extremists on behalf of our country and all Iowans. We can't do this without you, John.

Today, the Supreme Court threatened the foundation of our democracy when they ruled that the President is immune from criminal prosecution for any "official actions". Not only does this violate the constitution, overturn centuries of legal precedent, and tramples on the values this country was founded on, but it is also just plain wrong.

In her dissent, Justice Sotomayor said it best:

Growing up, we were all told that the rules apply to everyone — that the system only works if everyone is held to the same standard.

The court's conservative majority (all appointed by Republicans) has put party over country, endangering our democracy and damaging the very constitution they claim to uphold. In addition to their judicial malpractice, their wild partisanship will allow Trump to run out the clock on his criminal trials and deny voters the chance to make an informed decision in November.

This kind of behavior has become the cry of Republican politicians: law and order be damned.

Our country deserves better than judges and politicians who sell out our democracy to hold on to power. That's why the movement we're building is so important. We need to elect strong, pro-democracy leaders across the country. And that starts right here in Iowa. Will you join the fight to stand tall for our country today?
