Happy Fourth of July. Today, we celebrate our independence and our fight for freedom. 

This Fourth feels different. Just last week, a Trump-appointed far-right Supreme Court shook the foundations of our Democracy by ruling that presidents are entitled to immunity for their “official acts.” 

John, we’re in a precarious position. But here’s what I know for sure: Americans do not back down from a challenge, and we’re not the kind of people who are going to roll over and let a wannabe dictator take power. 

So yes, be angry - but don’t stop there. Channel that anger into ACTION. Commit to vote for Joe Biden, and encourage your friends to do the same. Donate to candidates and causes that you believe in. And above all, do NOT give up. 

This country does not belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. 

John, I hope you’re able to enjoy time with friends and family today. We have so much to be thankful for - and we have so much worth fighting for.
