We hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy in these uncertain times of COVID-19. As we've seen through the decisive actions of many of America's governors during this crisis, state elections are more important than ever. And while we had to cancel our event at the Outrage, we're happy to bring "Why States Matter" to you through Zoom!

Why are we focusing on states in 2020?
-States legislators create laws that have a direct, immediate impact on residents.
-Redistricting will be happening in the next few years, and this is our last chance in some states to get Democrats a seat at the table and prevent gerrymandering
-Sister District is also putting their resources into elections in presidential battleground states, which will create Democratic energy from the bottom of the ballot all the way to the top.
State elections are crucial to our democracy, and wonderful things are happening at that level. Check out the news from Virginia, where Governor Ralph Northam recently signed several measures into law, including expanding early voting, making election day a holiday, and scrapping voter ID laws.
