We are celebrating freedom and liberty as we mark America’s 248th birthday.

As we celebrate our nation’s 248^th birthday, we continue our critical work to advance freedom, opportunity, and personal responsibility in California and across the nation. PRI’s team has been hard at work proposing freedom-oriented, forward-thinking ideas to address major policy challenges.

This year marks PRI's 45th anniversary - an important milestone. Since our founding in 1979, PRI has racked up an impressive record of victories in the battle of ideas. We remain optimists—realists, but optimists—because we are infused with the ideals that made America and California inspiring beacons of liberty and prosperity. Across a wide range of policy issues, PRI is fighting for free markets and free people.

PRI advocates for constitutional principles and basic liberties regardless of the political climate or news, but PRI is answering this particular moment by supporting the increasing demand for market-based solutions in this election year. For example, PRI’s School Board Training Program educates and empowers elected school board members to put parents and students first and fight back against politicized curriculum. Our Free Cities Center is addressing challenges facing cities throughout the U.S.: rising crime, soaring housing costs, a sprawling homelessness crisis, and underperforming public schools. PRI has also been the most stalwart—and formidable—opponent of socialized health care. Our Centers for Health Care and Medical Economics and Innovation are at the forefront of the debates over “Medicare for All” and harmful regulations that threaten medical advancements.

Our team is staying laser-focused on the critical issues facing our nation today. With your renewed support, we will be able to conduct crucial research, start important conversations, and reach more people than ever before.
