In January 2021, amidst the violent assault on the Capitol, Alito displayed an upside-down American flag at his home— a symbol carried by insurrectionists. Two years later, another extremist flag, the “Appeal to Heaven,” was seen at his residence, a clear symbol of Christian nationalism.
How can we trust Alito to fairly judge cases related to January 6th or Trump’s role in the insurrection when his impartiality is undeniably compromised? The Supreme Court’s own Code of Ethics states a Justice should disqualify themselves when their impartiality is in question. Alito’s actions scream bias.
