On Wednesday, April 22 from 1:00-2:00 p.m., hear County leaders discuss how Arlington is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, and how local government is supporting businesses. Confirmed speakers include County Board Chair Libby Garvey, Deputy County Manager Shannon Flanagan-Watson, and Arlington Economic Development Director Telly Tucker. This is a free webinar that is exclusive to Chamber members, and includes an interactive Q&A session for members to participate in.
On Thursday, April 30 from 1:00-2:00 p.m., join us for a discussion of the CARES Act and other federal legislation to support businesses through the COVID-19 pandemic with Moore Hallmark, Vice President of Regional Affairs and Advocacy for the US Chamber. This webinar is free for Chamber members and $10 for nonmembers, and includes an interactive Q&A session for attendees to participate in.
There is still time to register as a volunteer for Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day! There are plenty of projects for volunteers to choose from to help local nonprofits. Projects range from creating a video of yourself reading a children’s story or writing a letter to a senior citizen to securing goods for families experiencing homelessness. Most of the projects can be done from the comfort of your own home and require a small amount of time.

Congressman Don Beyer will be joining us for the virtual kickoff on Tuesday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m. and will be giving remarks. Following the kickoff, businesses will volunteer for the nonprofit project that they selected from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The projects provided are in accordance with the CDC guidelines to ensure that participants are practicing social distancing.

Our lives have been turned upside down. We have been ordered to stay home. Our daily routines have been completely altered. Many of us are trying to work from home. Others are trying to educate their children at home. And still others are looking for new jobs that they can do from home. To call this time stressful would be an understatement.
