There is still time to register as a volunteer for Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day! There are plenty of projects for volunteers to choose from to help local nonprofits. Projects range from creating a video of yourself reading a children’s story or writing a letter to a senior citizen to securing goods for families experiencing homelessness. Most of the projects can be done from the comfort of your own home and require a small amount of time.
Congressman Don Beyer will be joining us for the virtual kickoff on Tuesday, April 21 at 12:00 p.m. and will be giving remarks. Following the kickoff, businesses will volunteer for the nonprofit project that they selected from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The projects provided are in accordance with the CDC guidelines to ensure that participants are practicing social distancing.

The Chamber is deeply saddened to receive the news of County Board Vice-Chair Erik Gutshall’s passing. Erik was a true leader in the Arlington community, and we are honored to have worked with him both as a long-time Chamber member and on the County Board. We wish his family and friends comfort and peace during this very difficult time. Erik was an extraordinary Arlingtonian, and he will be deeply missed in our community.

Our lives have been turned upside down. We have been ordered to stay home. Our daily routines have been completely altered. Many of us are trying to work from home. Others are trying to educate their children at home. And still others are looking for new jobs that they can do from home. To call this time stressful would be an understatement.
