John,
As we head out toward a Fourth of July holiday, our country is at a time of uncertainty. Republicans are convinced that they will win back the presidency in November, emboldened with almost limitless power from the MAGA Supreme Court. The president of a right-wing think tank that is acting as a Trump administration-in-exile is threatening violence and a “second American revolution.”1
I’m worried for our country’s future.
The America that Donald Trump and his MAGA cronies want to create doesn’t have room for every American. They want us to work ‘til we die; they want corporate greed to grow unfettered. Not just the places we usually talk about, like prescription drug prices, but fast food companies and grocery stores applying surge pricing to make everything more expensive.
There’s no room for Social Security in MAGA America. Donald Trump promised in 2020 that cutting our earned benefits would be a “fun second term project”.2
That’s why we have to dedicate every minute between now and November to focusing on the very real threats to our nation. Can you rush a donation today?
Remember:
Donald Trump was the worst President for seniors in American history. He spent his first year in office desperately flailing to gut Medicare and Medicaid. In 2025, he won’t be flailing.
On his way out the door, Trump expanded a program to force people with Medicare onto private, for-profit plans against their will. He also unilaterally eliminated the dedicated funding for Medicare and Social Security. If Trump retakes power, he will pick up where he left off: Raising prices for seniors and destroying everything we rely on for a secure retirement.
We beat Trump in 2020 because we stood united. We need to be just as united this time.
Can you rush a donation to save Social Security from Trump and keep America free?
Thank you,
Alex Lawson
