Sorry for reaching out right before a holiday weekend, John, but I had to make sure you saw this before you log off.

One week from tomorrow is a major deadline for our campaign. After July 11th, our campaign will have to report every contribution we’ve received since January 12th of this year to the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB). And all eyes will be on us to see how strong our campaign is.

After that, all of our fundraising numbers — from total amount raised to total individual contributions — will be made public.

We have to take this opportunity to demonstrate a strong base of support for our progressive movement — so our campaign is setting an ambitious goal: 500 grassroots contributions to emails just like this one between now and July 11th. Will you pitch in any amount to help us get there?

I know it might sound like just another fundraising benchmark, but how we show up ahead of this deadline holds a lot of weight.

The number of individual grassroots contributions we earn says something special about how we’re running this campaign: the right way, powered by the very people who make our city so great and fuel our movement (like you, John!).

I’m proud to be able to say that my campaign doesn’t accept a single penny in contributions from corporate PACs, real estate PACs, or from principals of for-profit real estate development or private equity companies.

Of course, that means I really do rely upon support from this team, especially leading up to such a big deadline.

Please, if you can, consider making a contribution of any amount you can to help my campaign kick off our 500 contribution goal:

Thank you for anything you can give. Your support today enables me to continue working toward a more affordable, sustainable, and efficient New York City.

Brad

P.S. Don't forget, New York City residents have the advantage of their donations being matched by the City’s matching program at an 8 to 1 ratio. This means that a one-time $10 contribution has a $90 impact!
