[1]Lucas Kunce for U.S. Senate
John,
There is no greater threat to reproductive freedom in the U.S. Senate than
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley.

It all started before Hawley was even in the Senate, when he led arguments
in the Hobby Lobby case that sought to restrict access to contraceptives.
The Guardian recently exposed that Hawley’s legal argument from that case
— that contraception “may induce an abortion by preventing implantation of
a fertilized egg” — served as the foundation for the IVF ruling in Alabama
that now threatens access to IVF in states with fetal “personhood” laws
like Missouri.
Hawley even co-sponsored a federal version of that “personhood” law, that
puts IVF access at risk nationwide.

Then, there was the Dobbs case that overturned Roe v. Wade. It was a
direct result of work by Josh Hawley’s wife and a shadowy,
billionaire-funded group of activist attorneys. Hawley used his
taxpayer-funded office to support their legal work.
Moments after the Dobbs decision came down, Missouri became the first
state to outlaw abortion — and Hawley bragged about how he got the
justices on the court to make it happen.
Weeks later, Josh Hawley co-sponsored a national abortion ban in the
Senate.

Last year, that same group of activist attorneys and a corporate judge
tried to ban the most commonly used abortion pill, mifepristone,
nationwide.
Josh Hawley’s wife led the suit. The judge was a campaign donor Josh
Hawley confirmed to the court.

To Josh Hawley, the effort to end reproductive freedom nationwide is all
in the family business. And this November, we’re going to make him pay for
it.
