Hi Friend,

Throughout history, autocrats have used a very similar playbook to sow discontent, take power and eventually control the population. The five chapters from that playbook are now being used in America, and we are in grave danger of losing our great experiment with democracy.   

These are the chapters and how they are being implemented right now in the United States of America:

1) Attack the free press: Trump and his GOP cronies, on a daily basis, tell the people that everything is "fake news." As a result, there is no longer any objective truth or facts, only what the "dear leader" tells you is true. 

2) Attack an independent judiciary: By installing like-minded minions throughout the judiciary, including the Supreme Court, an autocrat is able to thwart the rule of law for their own devious devices.

3) Attacks the "others": Whether its immigrants, Jews, Muslims or the LGBTQ+ community, the autocrat has to find someone to blame for the ills facing the country. Thus, he our she tells you "they" are the reason you aren't getting what is rightly yours.

4) Attack voting rights: The autocrat can't win if all votes are  counted, so they attack every aspect of free and fair elections. As a result, the tyranny of the minority prevails. 

5) Attack civil society: The autocrat also goes after non-profits, labor unions and advocacy groups, as they are the forces fighting to educate the population and protect basic human rights. 

It's only us standing in the way against these dark forces and I, for one, refuse to allow this playbook to be used against our nation. We must stand up, we must fight, and we must prevail. That is the purpose of my campaign.
