Plastic Free July
Dear John,
Today, we're kicking off Plastic Free July, where we'll go on a month-long plastic-free journey. Our goal: to help our planet get closer to a future with no plastic in nature.
It seems like we hear news almost every day about how plastic waste is harming our planet’s wildlife, ecosystems, and communities. With over 11 million tons of plastic waste ending up in our oceans each year, it's hard to know how we can change things.
But, there is good news.
Right now, there are millions of people across the world joining the Plastics Free July Challenge and refusing single-use plastics in their daily lives. Because the US recycles only 9% of the plastic we use, not only do we need to improve recycling systems, but we also need to focus on reducing the amount of plastic we use in the first place. Collectively, we can create a healthier plastics-free planet for ecosystems, biodiversity, and future generations.
Will you join us for a plastic free July? For the next month, I'll send you tips and resources on different plastics-related topics that you can apply in your daily life. I can't wait to welcome you to the challenge!
Sign up for Plastic Free July ►
Sincerely,
Grace
