Introducing the Social Trust Map
The U.S. is experiencing a crisis of connection. Americans feel more lonely
and isolated than ever before. But there are people and organizations
across the country working every day to build connections and belonging
with others.
[2]Weave: The Social Fabric Project at the Aspen Institute tackles the
problem of broken social trust that has left Americans divided, lonely, and
in social gridlock. Weave connects, supports, and invests in local leaders
stepping up to weave a new, inclusive social fabric where they live. They
recently launched the [3]Social Trust Map, a tool that allows you to see
your neighborhood's trust traits and find trust-building opportunities near
you.
Based on annual data from the United States Census, surveys, and social
media, the [4]Social Trust Map is an interactive story aimed at inspiring
and helping people leverage their trust traits to bridge divides, build
relationships, and weave a more inclusive social fabric.
“We made the Social Trust Map for people who see the conflicts and
divisions in our country and believe that we can be better,” said Frederick
J. Riley, Executive Director of Weave: The Social Fabric Project. "The
Trust Map will not only inspire you with stories of what everyday Americans
are doing, but it will give you data and tools to become one of the people
weaving trust in your community and helping heal our nation.”
Explore your neighborhood’s trust traits and take the first steps into
weaving at [5]trustmap.org.
