Hi there,

We recently introduced you to our latest endorsement, Claire Jones for the Tennessee State House, who is running against a man who doesn’t believe contraception should be legal and, when he’s not proudly taking essential healthcare away from women, the “hill he has chosen to die on” is the right for first cousins to marry each other.

We’ve heard from many of you that, while Claire’s opponent sounds like a dangerous menace who should not be in any positions of power, you’d like to know more about Claire as a candidate and as a person.
Before we tell you more, pitch in a split donation of $20.24 or more to ensure Claire has the resources she needs to win!

Claire Jones is a nurse who brings an important perspective to the TN Legislature, especially when there has been such a relentless focus on controlling healthcare and women’s bodies in her state.

She understands the importance of reproductive healthcare from both a professional and personal perspective. She believes doctors should have the freedom to provide evidence-based healthcare, and that healthcare decisions should be made between patients and physicians. In short, she believes that lawmakers have no place in the exam room.

Additionally, if elected, Claire's priority will be expanding Medicaid. TN is seeing rapid closures of rural hospitals, forcing people to travel far distances to get the care they need. This is exacerbated by shortages of physicians and nurses in the state, which means these facilities are being overrun and struggling to keep up. Despite this, the state legislature continues to ignore the experts in the medical field to address this issue.

Claire has stated that education is the foundation of democracy, and is deeply concerned it is under attack. She is also concerned about gun violence and would be a rare voice of reason on this matter among a GOP supermajority in the TN legislature.

Only 14% of the TN lawmakers are women. Women's voices are almost completely missing from the rooms where decisions that impact their lives and their bodies are being made – and it shows. It’s critical that we replace this district’s extremist right-wing menace with a voice of experience, compassion, and reason. We know Claire is the woman for the job.

This district has the third-largest number of Democrats in the state! That means there is a strong opportunity to flip this seat — but Claire needs our help. Please rush a split donation of $20.24 or more to help us ensure Claire has what she needs to win.

Hi there,

We are honored to introduce you to our latest endorsement: Claire Jones for the Tennessee State House District 61.

Claire is running for a district with the 3rd largest number of Democrats in the state, so there is a strong opportunity to flip this seat – but she needs our help.

Her opponent is an extremist right-wing conservative who has an insane record. Before we tell you more, will you rush a split donation of $20.24 or more to help us ensure Claire has what she needs to win?

Claire is running against the incumbent, Gino Bulso. Here is a look at his record:

❌ He is anti-abortion and has openly told people he doesn't believe contraceptives should be legal because sex should only occur for procreation.

❌ Last legislative session, he sponsored and passed a bill requiring schools to show a fetal development video that has been criticized as being inaccurate by physicians, and made it so parents cannot opt out of having their kids watch the video without opting out of the entire family life curriculum.

❌ He is ANTI-LGBT+, including sponsoring a bill that would ban pride flags from teachers' desks in public schools. Thankfully, the bill failed in the Senate.

❌ He has staunchly defended the right for first cousins to marry in Tennessee. After sharing that his grandparents are first cousins, he made a bad-faith argument that marriage between first cousins was protected by Obergefell v. Hodges.

That’s not all. He is also a lawyer and, in his private capacity, is currently suing a school board in the district he represents. When the suit was questioned, he, in his official capacity as a State Representative, proposed legislation that would ensure it had legal standing.

Meanwhile, Claire is a nurse and is committed to expanding Medicaid, fighting to stop any additional restrictions to women's healthcare and reproductive care, and working to repeal Tennessee's current abortion ban. She is running a phenomenal, organized, impressive campaign and we could not be prouder to stand with her.

This sounds like a no-brainer, but this district tends to have low voter turnout. Claire needs our help to reach voters and get them to the polls. Will you help us ensure that she has what she needs to win by pitching in a split donation of $20.24 or more right now?
