** Just ONE DAY left to go until the election…

A historic day in British history awaits us tomorrow. The governing party of the last fourteen years is headed for utter destruction, potentially ushering in a seismic shift for the country. No one’s quite certain what comes next, but we do that moments of change present key opportunities for movements like ours.

In this day and age, it’s easy to become jaded and disillusioned with politics. We’ve all heard politicians lie, seen them debase themselves with desperate campaign tactics, and watched them behave with cruelty towards one another. We’ve seen that the system isn’t working, and that regular people are paying the price.

But it hasn’t crumbled yet. We may spend a lot of time warning about the glaring gaps in our democracy, but right now we have the chance to use it properly – to vote out one of the most unpopular governments in living memory. Then, the real work of building it back fairer, stronger, and better can truly begin.

We’ve also got some news of our own today. Beginning this afternoon, we’ll be uploading regular content on our Substack page, Ugly Politix.

It will give our team members – and later on, others in our orbit – a fresh platform to provide you with crucial long-form content on a regular basis. We’ll dive deep into key ideas about democratic reform, threats from the far-right, and the new reality of our Labour government. As many of you have been asking, all of our content will be in one place, and easily shareable on social media.
