Yesterday’s decision by the Supreme Court to grant Donald Trump immunity from criminal prosecution for official acts has upended over 200 years of precedent and is a far cry from the democracy envisioned by our Founding Fathers.

What’s even more disgraceful is Justices Thomas and Alito brazenly refusing to recuse themselves from this case. Headline after headline shows their clear biases in historic rulings like this one.

It’s why I have pushed for passage of the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act, which would require the Supreme Court to adopt an enforceable code of conduct.

The appearance of impropriety or partiality requires recusal. Full stop.

That’s why we need your help to fight back and ensure that no one is above the law. Not convicted felon Donald Trump. And definitely not a Supreme Court Justice.

We might not have a say in this ruling, but voters will have the ultimate say this November at the ballot box when we re-elect President Biden, defend the Senate, and take back the House majority.
