Today, on National Wildland Firefighters Day, we honor the brave men and women who risk their lives to protect our communities and natural landscapes from devastating wildfires. Their dedication, courage, and sacrifice are a testament to the spirit of service that defines
our nation.
The 8th District has many federally managed forests that unfortunately, aren’t being taken care of properly. This leads to major wildfires and puts our wildland firefighters at risk. In Congress, I will work to make sure that we are actually managing our
forests and working to reduce wildfire risk.
