Dear Friend,
As we prepare to celebrate and enjoy the Independence Day holiday, we wanted to provide a quick update on some of the work we are doing to support and recognize Minnesotans.
For too long, mail service in our state has been inconsistent at best. Minnesotans depend on reliable and efficient mail from the United States Postal Service (USPS) to operate their businesses, pay their bills, and access their medications. We were proud to join the entire Minnesota and North Dakota Congressional delegations in a bipartisan, bicameral letter urging Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to improve postal services in the Minnesota-North Dakota region. Our communities deserve dependable mail service. We will continue to advocate for improvements to the USPS to ensure timely and efficient mail delivery for all Minnesotans.
Recently, our office hosted the first session of the 2024 Young Women’s Leadership Program with the St. Cloud Police Department. We were joined by female law enforcement officials from across the Sixth District for pizza and a panel discussion about what a career in law enforcement looks like for young women. Thank you to our participants and the law enforcement officials from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, Benton County Sheriff’s Office and St. Cloud Police Department for joining us!
Last week, I had the chance to meet with Lydia Holmgren, the winner of the 2024 Sixth District Congressional Art Competition, and her mother in Washington. Lydia is an artist and Senior at Sartell High School in Sartell, Minnesota. Her pencil drawing of her great-grandmother, Pearl, was incredible! Congratulations, Lydia! We can’t wait to see where your artistic talents will take you next.
Our casework office hours are continuing throughout the month of July! If you are struggling to get help from a federal agency, attend one of our casework office hour sessions around the district and let our casework team cut through the red tape and get you results! If you are unable to make it, you can always get help by calling our office in Otsego at (763) 241-6848 or our Chaska office at (952) 262-2999.
Sincerely,
|
