I am so grateful for everyone who has been and continues to be a part of this campaign and this work.  Today I am sending a special thank you to everyone who contributed to our campaign in the second quarter of this year, which ended on June 30, and to everyone who has contributed to our campaign during this critical election cycle.

This week, we celebrate Independence Day.  And as we do, we look ahead to November and the importance of protecting our freedoms and our foundation.  We are facing real threats to our democratic ideals and our democracy itself.

This week, we remember and celebrate the words of our founders: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

Generations of Americans have worked and fought to realize these ideals, to make our union a more perfect one, and to expand the rights enumerated in our Declaration to all.

This campaign has always been about making the vision and promise of our country a reality for all Americans.  And that is what everyone on #TeamLizzie is fighting for—today and every day.  And that is something to celebrate.

And this Independence Day, I will be celebrating our freedom, our founding ideals, and our fearless fighters—which includes you and all of those across our country who are working to ensure that we continue to build on the ideals and aspirations in our Declaration of Independence.
