I hope this email finds you in good health and good spirits. I just wanted to take a moment to give you a quick update on some recent developments.
Throughout the campaign, we warned that outside groups were interfering to buy this election. Now we have irrefutable proof thanks to the recently released June finance reports - and the residents of OR-03 deserve to know - that the America Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and their GOP megadonors [[link removed]] were behind the millions of dollars that poured into this race, including to smear my name and my record. No one should be able to contribute unlimited amounts to elect the candidates of their choice - because this further concentrates power in the hands of the wealthy and powerful. Republicans should not be able to interfere in Democratic primaries - because they are actively opposing our agenda and should not select our representatives. And finally, voters have the right to know who’s flooding the airwaves, and why.
I am so proud of what we accomplished together - the attention we brought to the corrosive role of money in politics. Now we must continue to fight for the changes that will strengthen our democracy, and hold our leaders accountable by making sure they represent us with the values, integrity, and unwavering passion we deserve.
As I mentioned in my concession speech, the campaign may be over, but the work continues. I'll be taking time in the coming weeks to rest, reflect, and plan what comes next.
