Racial and ethnic disparities in access to, quality, and outcomes of health care have persisted for as long as medicine has been practiced in the US, despite improvements in overall care.
Through the Urban Institute’s Unequal Treatment at 20 Initiative (UT@20), which reflects on the 20th anniversary of the National Academy of Medicine’s landmark report, Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care, researchers aim to answer the question: How can we make substantial progress toward eliminating these disparities and ensuring equitable care for all patients?
