At Respect Together (formerly Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape), we believe that fostering strong, inclusive communities is key to reducing sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. This spring our state division the Pennsylvania Coalition to Advance Respect (PCAR) and our national division the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) raised awareness of our Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaign "Building Connected Communities" by hosting a series of impactful community events that included bringing advocates to the Pennsylvania state capitol, turning it teal to raise awareness, an open house, and SAAM reception.
As we look forward to the rest of the year, we are reminded of the importance of our mission and the difference we can make together. You play a critical role in creating safer communities, whether that community is with your family, friends, or colleagues. With your support, we can continue to provide legal services, prevention tools and training, advocate for the rights and needs of survivors, and ensure that rape crisis centers have the resources necessary to provide essential services for survivors and their loved ones.
