Friend, we've seen A LOT happen to our abortion rights these last few weeks.

Last week, the Supreme Court ruled that pregnant people are allowed to continue receiving emergency abortion care if their life is at risk, under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA).

Just before that, the court ruled in favor of keeping mifepristone – a safe and crucial abortion pill – on the market.

But last week was also a stark reminder of how we got here, and that our reproductive rights are far from fully protected under the law. Last Monday marked the two year anniversary of the Dobbs decision – the ruling that overturned Roe v. Wade and ultimately put millions of Americans' abortion rights in jeopardy.

The reality is that we shouldn't even be here. 

Because while our ultra-conservative Supreme Court may have fallen on the right side of history this time, the reason so many of these cases are making their way to the highest court is because SCOTUS has enabled far-right extremists to put any and every decision that has to do with our reproductive rights on the chopping block.

GOP extremists are doing everything in their power to strip these critical and lifesaving treatments away from people seeking reproductive care, and they won't stop until they achieve their ultimate goal – a nationwide ban on abortion.

As Attorney General, I have always fought tirelessly against anti-abortion extremists who seek to rob us of our reproductive freedoms – both in New York and across the country. With so much hanging in the balance, I refuse to stop that fight for even one second.
