In a 6-3 ruling yesterday, the Supreme Court decided that the President of the United States is immune from criminal prosecution for any “official acts” taken in office.

This elevates the President of the United States to something akin to an unaccountable monarch dictating various fiats to us lowly subjects.

Unsurprisingly, my opponent Rep. Randy Weber, a prominent Trump sycophant, is excited by the prospect of an unaccountable Trump presidency.

Independence Day is right around the corner. America is about fighting against tyranny, not creating our own homegrown tyrants.

The Supreme Court is clearly out of control and we must reign them in. An easy way to do this would be to expand the court, something Congress has done in the past and should be done now.

If elected, I will be voting for any legislation that expands the Supreme Court, even if I have to introduce and sponsor that language myself.

It is time for an accountable President and an accountable Supreme Court.
