[ [link removed] ]Tl;dr: SCOTUS just made sure that Donald Trump will not face
accountability for his acts to foment insurrection on January 6. If this
is all you need to know, click here to demand Congress investigate and
reform SCOTUS.
John,
The compromised Supreme Court just delivered a blow to our democracy. In a
6-3 decision, the Court ruled that Trump has immunity for "official acts"
as president, but not for private conduct. They've sent the case back to
lower courts, effectively delaying any trial until after the 2024
election.
We’ve been clear about this from day one: this is election interference.

reform the Supreme Court.
Here's our take on what this all means:
1. Justice denied is democracy destroyed. SCOTUS is interfering with the
election. We need court reform NOW.
2. Trump won. By distinguishing between "official" and "private" acts
without clear definitions, the corrupt Court has allowed Trump to get
away with his crimes against democracy.
3. The stakes for the 2024 elections just got even higher. If re-elected,
Trump will dismiss charges or pardon himself and his fellow
insurrectionists.
4. The Supreme Court is on the line. With a number of Justices
approaching retirement, the next president will populate SCOTUS to
decide legal precedent for a generation.
Let's be clear: Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election results were
an attack on democracy and America itself.
