Friends and Comrades- thank you for providing another high turnout and vibrant general meeting over the weekend! We hope you have a happy holiday weekend coming up, and if possible consider getting involved in some of these actions.

Cori Bush Phonebank with DSA!

Cori Bush made history four years ago in taking down a long time establishment Democrat in Missouri, running as an openly socialist DSA member and Black Lives Matter organizer. In office, she has been a consistent voice for Palestinian rights, a fact that has earned her a heavily funded AIPAC-backed challenger.

DSA is hosting a phonebank tonight at 5:30 Central Time (4:30 Mountain Time), which you can attend virtually using this signup link. Only with mass volunteer support can we fight back the pro-genocide special interests!

Income Discrimination Bill in City Council

Santa Fe City Council members Alma Castro and Jamie Cassut have sponsored a resolution that would ban discrimination against tenants over source of income. Currently in New Mexico, tenants around the state have been targeted and denied housing simply over the fact that they take federal or state provided vouchers. Despite these discrimination protections being common sense, the landlord interests in Santa Fe have caused this bill to be delayed into late July. Contact your city councilors and demand they support discrimination protections, as well as strong enforcement from the city against landlord abuses.

La Milpa Community Garden?

This Friday, our friends at Earth Care will be doing important work towards building local food security with their project, La Milpa Comunitaria. If you'd like to volunteer with them, they will be working from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Boys and Girls Club. You can sign up to volunteer and get updates here.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
