Montica Talmadge has loved the State of North Carolina since she moved here with her family in 1994. Politics piqued her interest at the age of seven. In the summer of 1988, armed with a legal pad, a pencil and the determination, she stayed up way past her bedtime, she wrote down the votes of every state during the roll call and sat spellbound as the Governor of Texas, Ann Richards, gave the keynote address. Her family has supported her love for politics ever since. Montica wants to work to inspire other girls, especially girls of color, by being in the room where it happens, for others to follow the path that she is on.
She is a PROUD Aggie from North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro and enjoys spending time with family, friends, watching college basketball and volunteering with her fellow members of the Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated.
In addition to serving as Interim Executive Director, Montica is also our Director of Leadership Programs. Thank you to Montica for stepping into this role! |
