Dear John,

Yesterday, Mayor Adams and the New York City Council passed the city’s $112.4 billion budget that delivered huge wins for immigrant New Yorkers, a vital step in reversing many of the Mayor’s unnecessary budget cuts he continuously proposed as a way to cause chaos and hurt our most vulnerable New Yorkers.

This budget supports New Yorkers by including:
* $9 million expansion for Promise NYC ([link removed]) , a childcare program assisting undocumented children—totaling a $25 million investment
* $100 million investment for early childhood programing (3-K and pre-K)
* $10 million expansion for adult literacy initiative funding—totaling a $14 million investment
* Increase of $4.4 million funding for legal services for immigrant families
* $3.8 million for language access worker cooperatives and an interpreter bank
* $3.6 million for Access Health ([link removed])
* $700K for Key to the City ([link removed])
* $58 million to reverse cuts to the city’s public libraries ([link removed])
* $2 billion to investing in housing

After pushing for a budget that recognized immigrants as integral to New York City, it’s evident our elected representatives heard us. Through funding of early childhood programs, language access, adult literacy, and more, thousands of New York families and individuals will have access to services that could be life changing.

Parents will be able to contribute to our economy knowing their children are safely being cared for ([link removed]) ; New Yorkers with limited English proficiency will have access to more crucial government information; families will be able to stay together, apply for status, and enter our workforce. Through this funding, we can move forward to create a more just and equitable New York City.

These achievements would not have been possible with the support of advocates and donors like you—THANK YOU!
