On July 2, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act into law alongside Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and other leaders. This landmark legislation was a turning point in American history, focused on ending segregation and combating discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in the United States.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is the nation's landmark civil rights legislation and was a catalyst for change, movements, and laws that continued to advance civil rights. It laid the groundwork for further progress, including the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968.

As we celebrate this anniversary, let's remember the fight for true equality continues.
