It’s time to bring socialism to Olympia! Canvas with us to support SDSA-endorsed candidate Shaun Scott as he runs to represent the 43rd legislative district in the WA state assembly.

Shaun now has an opponent, Andrea Suarez, the founder of We Heart Seattle, a non-profit that has frequently been accused of its anti-homelessness practices. Suarez has raised over $50,000, with many of her donations coming from business owners and landlords. We need DSA member energy to win this campaign!

We’ll meet spread out in teams around Capitol Hill and meet back for a social. No experience required, training will be provided on site and you will be paired with experienced volunteers!

Restaurant Industry Workers Social

Monday, July 8th, 6-9 p.m.

Vermillion: 1508 11th Ave
RSVP

Working in the restaurant industry is no joke. We work too hard to get so little in return. We’re on our feet for hours, often without breaks. We breathe in toxic fumes and burn ourselves keeping up with the grueling pace of the kitchen. We deal with harassment from customers and have our tips stolen by management!

This industry is tough, but so are we. We’re funny, we’re creative, we’re social. We form strong bonds with our coworkers and find ways to make the work a little more bearable. When we have each other’s backs, we can change our workplaces! When we change our workplaces, we can change the industry!

Join us on Monday, July 8th from 6-9 PM at Vermillion to blow off some steam and connect with other restaurant workers who understand the struggle and want to do something about it!

Pick up some resources about your rights in the workplace, hear from workers organizing for change, enjoy fresh beats provided by DJ UNKLEJESSICA, and sing your heart out at karaoke with KJ Tony James! We’ll have free drink tickets at the entrance for industry workers 😎
