WILL President Reacts to New #SCOTUS Decisions WILL President and General Counsel, Rick Esenberg, reacted to the 6-3 SCOTUS ruling granting some presidential immunity, "There are things the President can be prosecuted for and some of the charges in the [Smith] indictment might be included among them, but more litigation is required. The bar seems high to be me, but not so high as to be insurmountable … Although Trump's lawyer seemed to concede that some of the acts in the indictment are not official, I somehow don't think it's going to go that easy for Smith." In response to criticisms of the ruling, Rick noted the argument laid out by Chief Justice Roberts: "As for the dissents," Roberts writes, "they strike a tone of chilling doom that is wholly disproportionate to what the Court actually does today—conclude that immunity extends to official discussions between the President and his Attorney General, and then remand to the lower courts to determine 'in the first instance' whether and to what extent Trump's remaining alleged conduct is entitled to immunity." For more analysis, Rick will be on Jay Weber tomorrow morning at 8:10 a.m.! Be sure to tune in. WIN for a WILL Client!
