john,

Today’s shameful Supreme Court decision — a decision that grants Trump immunity from criminal prosecution for “official acts” as President — was decided 6-3.

Donald Trump’s very own appointed Supreme Court justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett ruled in favor of his attempts to evade any accountability for his blatantly corrupt and illegal actions, including his attempts to interfere with the 2020 election.

This decision comes as no surprise, and it’s why we need to fix the broken Supreme Court — because who knows what comes next.

The Court is not supposed to be a bastion of partisan interests and biased Justices. We can’t let this go on. Please, john, add your name in support of the Judiciary Act and our efforts to restore balance and enforce ethics for the Court >>

For a long time, the Supreme Court delayed taking on this case, a circumstance that would have allowed Trump to potentially pardon himself if he wins in November. Finally, they decided to take it on. Many had hoped they would rule against granting him “absolute immunity.” Instead, the Court gave Trump its absolute support to utilize the Oval Office for his own personal and political gain if he’s re-elected.

So what does all this mean?

This means that Donald Trump’s ongoing criminal prosecutions could be delayed, and his 34 felony counts could be greatly undermined.

But even more importantly, a Trump victory in November now means that he enters the White House with “absolute immunity” for his official actions as President. Emboldened and unbound by any appearance of needing to adhere to the rule of law. It’s a disgrace, and moreover, it’s dangerous for someone who has said they would be a dictator on "Day 1.”

Trump has spent his entire life believing that his power and wealth could protect him from prosecution — and now the Supreme Court is telling him that yes, he is indeed above the law.

I’ve had more than enough of the Supreme Court’s decisions that move us further back in time and erode the foundational principles that this country is supposed to uphold.

I’m proud to stand up for real reform to the Supreme Court. That includes legislation to expand the number of justices on the Supreme Court and enforce a code of ethics for the justices.

If you agree that we desperately need to reform the Supreme Court — and that we cannot wait for the next scandal or outrageous politically-motivated decision — please join me in speaking out.
