Today, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump has certain immunities from prosecution, stalling his legal case for which he’s accused of attempting to overturn the 2020 election. Now, we most likely won’t have a verdict until after the 2024 election.
This ruling sets a dangerous precedent that could doom our democracy if we don’t fight back right now. Will you chip in now to help change history?

In November, we have a chance to turn this ship around and stop Trump for good by electing leaders who will work to uphold our constitution and democracy. The DLGA is working to elect Lieutenant Governors across the country who will fight tooth and nail for our freedoms, but we need your support to make it happen.
The Supreme Court is packed with far-right partisans and Trump lackeys who’ve used their position to upend decades of precedent and threaten to throw our rule of law into chaos.
Let’s not forget that:
- The court previously overturned Roe. v Wade, blocked federal departments from being able to regulate effectively, and prevent states from taking action on the national gun violence epidemic.
- Virginia Thomas, wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, sent a text message stating that “Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History” to Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows. Despite this obvious conflict of interest, Clarence Thomas refused to recuse himself from the case.
- Samuel Alito flew an upside-down American flag outside his home – a symbol of the Stop the Steal movement to attempt to overturn the 2020 election. He claimed this failed to meet the standard for recusing himself.
The Supreme Court has shown us, time and time again, that they care more about scoring political wins for the far-right than they do preserving our democracy. This is a dangerous moment, and we must respond now.
