John,
Two days after AIPAC spent more money than has ever been spent in a U.S. House primary, 62 Democrats joined Republicans in voting against counting the amount of Palestinians killed by Israel in Gaza.
Tell us again that AIPAC isn't a threat to our democracy.
This horrendous amendment would prevent the Department of State from using any international affairs funding to cite death and injury statistics from the Gaza Health Ministry.
It came the same week that Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump used the word “Palestinian” as an attempted slur against President Biden in their first debate.
Like our Justice Democrats incumbent Rep. Rashida Tlaib said, “There is so much anti-Palestinian racism in this chamber that my colleagues don't even want to acknowledge that Palestinians exist at all. Not when they're alive—and now, not even when they're dead."
A vote for this amendment is a vote to deny genocide, John. Will you add your name to urge the Senate to oppose this dangerous move that would censor facts and dehumanize Palestinians?
The fact that 62 Democrats supported this goes to show the influence AIPAC has on Congress — and exactly why we need to re-elect our progressive incumbents standing up for humanity.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
