The Court’s ruling in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo and Relentless v. Department of Commerce overturns Chevron v. NRDC, one of the most important cases you may never have heard of. In 1984, the landmark Chevron case set the precedent that courts should defer to experts at public agencies in cases where the laws they are charged with implementing are unclear. It has been cited in court decisions more than 18,000 times — more than Brown v. Board of Education or Roe v. Wade. |
