It's a dark day for our democracy, friend:

This morning, the Supreme Court effectively allowed the former president and convicted felon Donald Trump to delay the federal case against his attempts to overturn the 2020 election.

This misguided ruling makes a joke out of a fundamental principle of American democracy: That no one is above the law.

And if Trump wins, he could use the decision to have the Justice Department drop their charges against him entirely.

But I say ya no más: Enough is enough.

I’ve seen first hand what it looks like when this basic principle of democracy is overturned. In Latin America, too many dangerous dictators have taken power with zero checks, and the results have been devastating.

Now, we must fight for our democracy in America against every threat posed by the far-right. That starts by keeping the Senate — one of the few checks on both the President and the far-right Supreme Court's power — blue this fall.

Will you please chip in $5 or more now to help me reach my $100k rapid-response goal to defeat far-right Senator Rick Scott and save our razor-thin Democratic majority?

With Democrats defending what experts call the "Senate map from hell," the path to the Senate majority runs right through Florida.

And with new polls showing me neck-and-neck with my far-right, Trump-loyalist opponent Rick Scott, I know I've got what it takes to unseat him and stop his vision for a Trump-run Senate — but only if I can compete with his massive fortune.

If we win this fall, the Senate will remain a check against Donald Trump and his dangerous anti-democratic agenda. But we'll only succeed by hitting the $100,000 rapid-response goal tonight to secure the vital resources to fight back — so friend, will you please chip in just $5 or more right now to help me end Rick Scott's Senate career, flip Florida, and keep the Senate blue?

Thank you for all you do,
