John, now that we've had the full weekend to process, I wanted to bump my email below to check in and see how you’re feeling after the presidential debate last week.
The overall sentiment we’re picking up on the ground is that voters from both sides of the aisle are feeling politically disengaged, disheartened, and uninspired. You yourself may be tempted to lean away from or “give up” on politics in this moment — but the truth is we need to lean way in now more than ever.
Look, John, we’re as horrified as you to see a presidential candidate lie on the national debate stage about “post-birth” abortions and refuse to denounce January 6th. And we’re equally disappointed that golf got more airtime than affordable childcare. But Democrats can’t afford to get distracted or bogged down right now by only concentrating on the TOP of the ticket.
Our strategy here at Vote Mama has always gone deeper than that. In fact, if the presidential debate showed us anything, it’s how important it is that we remain focused on our plan to elect our endorsed moms up and down the ballot.
