BREAKING: Trump is immune from prosecution in federal election case

John, just hours ago the Supreme Court sided with President Trump, ruling that presidents cannot be held criminally liable for official actions of the government.

In other words, the Court just handed Trump, and future presidents, a get out of jail free card.

Now, the president can claim immunity for “official acts” and get off scot-free. Justice Sonia Sotomayor best laid out the stakes in her dissent:

"Orders the Navy’s Seal Team 6 to assassinate a political rival? Immune. Organizes a military coup to hold onto power? Immune. Takes a bribe in exchange for a pardon? Immune. Immune, immune, immune… With fear for our democracy, I dissent." -Justice Sonia Sotomayor
