Halito ankana (Hello friends)!
Today is my first day as Executive Director of Cultural Survival. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to serve the Cultural Survival community, and I am thinking about all of you as I humbly step into this role.
Cultural Survival is a tremendous organization with dedicated employees, strong partners, passionate allies, and faithful supporters around the world. I am truly impressed with all the great things this community has accomplished over the years, and I am excited to be a part of it moving forward!
I know that, together, we will achieve great things as we advocate for and support the sovereignty, self-determination, and political resilience of Indigenous Peoples. As we do this, we secure a future for all of us guided by the wisdom and leadership of Indigenous Peoples who are grounded in their ancestral lifeways, connected to their lands and waters, and invested in the continuance and revitalization of their cultures. In these times of global upheaval, the future of humanity and all life on Mother Earth depends on upholding Indigenous Peoples’ inherent rights, honoring Indigenous values, and listening to and learning from Indigenous voices.
Thank you for the many ways you contribute to the important work we do at Cultural Survival. To cultivate equity and justice for Indigenous Peoples and nurture healing for all of us, we must regularly renew our commitment to respectful kinship, recognizing our interconnectivity through acts of reciprocity and redistribution. As I take on the responsibility of this role, I am asking you to renew your commitment ([link removed]) to this community and step up with me - kil ia (let’s go)!
Yakoke hoke (thanks so much),
Aimee Roberson (Choctaw and Chickasaw)

Halito ankana (¡Hola amigos!),
Yakoke hoke (muchas gracias),

Cultural Survival advocates for Indigenous Peoples' rights and supports Indigenous communities’ self-determination, cultures and political resilience since 1972. We envision a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples' inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.
