- The Ignatian Solidarity Network has issued an action alert that may be shared with parishes, calling on Congress to act on behalf of the most vulnerable during the current pandemic.
- The National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention is offering resources for faith communities to observe the National Weekend of Prayer for Faith, Hope, and Life (May 15-17).
Finally, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services shared the following announcement:
Last week CarePortal rolled out their Disaster Relief Platform that connects congregations to local agencies and the community needs they have identified. Other virtual platforms that connect volunteers to the needs in their immediate community include Aunt Bertha, the Be a Neighbor Campaign through VOMO, and the Nextdoor platform. Also look to your local safety net organizations -- such as The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, or the United Way serving your community – to learn how your community may be of assistance.
