What's On In July?
Le Frère (2021)

This July on POV, we are thrilled to bring you our special Disability Pride Month collection, a vibrant mix of innovative stories that challenge the usual take on care, accessibility, and community, along with three bold new releases from Season 37.

Highlighting Disability Pride Month is the premiere of Is There Anybody Out There? on July 8th, where filmmaker Ella Glendining embarks on a quest to find others who share her rare condition, reshaping her view of herself and the world. Other standouts include Eat Your Catfish, which offers a brutally honest and darkly humorous look at a family navigating life with a matriarch with ALS, and All Riders, which follows disabled New Yorkers fighting for subway accessibility. Additionally, Le Frère tells the story of Kaïs, who, despite losing the use of his body, dreams of being a hero alongside his brothers. Join us this month as we honor and celebrate these powerful narratives of living with disabilities.

Don't miss our other exciting debuts this month, including Hummingbirds on July 1 and Against the Tide on July 29. And don't forget, season opener King Coal is still streaming! Be sure to tune in and embark on this new season with us! Check out the rest of the upcoming titles here.

At POV, we believe in the power of story and its universal accessibility. That's why you can stream all of the films on the POV website and the PBS App. For more insights, exclusive content, and filmmaker interviews, connect with us on social media.
