Check on your candidates' views

Dear
SPUC supporter,
The General Election is this week. On Thursday, we'll be heading to the polls to vote for a new Government.

As you know, the threat of abortion being decriminalised was narrowly averted in the last Parliament but is almost certain to return in the new one. We also expect a big push to legalise assisted suicide. It is therefore vital that pro-life people use their vote to elect pro-life MPs.

How do I find out about my candidates’ views?

You can use our easy webtool to find out how your parliamentary candidates intend to vote on abortion and assisted suicide. Simply input your postcode, and scroll to the bottom of the page to see their answers to SPUC’s questions. If one of your candidates has been an MP before, their voting record will also appear on the page.

You can use this information to inform how you vote.

No answers for your candidates? Then…

Contact your candidates

If no answers are appearing for your candidates, then they probably have not been contacted yet! We rely on supporters to contact their local candidates to ask them how they intend to vote on decriminalising abortion and assisted suicide. Use the Email your candidates feature on the tool to contact them. And remember to send any answers you get to [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . We will upload them to the website so that other people in your constituency can see the answers.

What else can you do to help elect pro-life MPs?

Spread the word

Please share our webtool with others. We need as many people as possible contacting their candidates, and, of course, looking up their views. Help to arm people with the information they need to make an informed decision while voting this week. A good start might be simply forwarding this email to friends!
