Team,
Our campaign is about more than politics -- it’s about the well-being of our community.
So as we all adapt to a new normal, our campaign is adapting to these changes as well. Our hardworking volunteers have quickly shifted gears from traditional campaigning to doing community check-ins through phone banking and text banking.
First and foremost, our team continues to organize with empathy. Our organizers and volunteers are listening to our community members’ thoughts and concerns, and we know that listening is most important.
When people we reach are looking for ways to help, we offer opportunities to volunteer with our program. For those who are having a tough time, we make sure they are aware of all the federal and state resources available to them.
Here’s a quick update on what our volunteer team has been working on:
-
Checking in with members of our community (1,400 phone calls and 3,000 texts so far!)
-
Holding weekly virtual volunteer trainings
-
Virtually onboarding new campaign interns from local high schools and universities
-
Boosting our digital presence with more social media and virtual events
-
Hosting a virtual social hour with volunteers to keep spirits high
So if you hear from one of our volunteers and are able to -- take a moment to check in with them! Or if you’re looking for ways to help our campaign during this time, sign up to attend one of our team's virtual training webinars →
We’re going to get through this by looking out for one another and continuing the important work of building a stronger community.
Well wishes,
Haley
