There is a war on women in America—and the bad guys are winning. Across the country, male-dominated, socially extremist state legislatures are rolling back women’s rights.
Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, 41 states have banned abortion with only limited exceptions. Now they’re coming for contraception. With the “tailwind of the Supreme Court” behind them, many states are looking at restrictions on birth control.
Regressive measures like these are immensely unpopular. Two-thirds of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases and 91% support legal birth control.
Yet here we are, going backward.
It’s time to recognize the fact that the freedoms women have won are not safe. That we all must take action when necessary to protect them.
We just did. In May, we made significant donation to UltraViolet, which will use the grant in its fight for women’s rights.
