John,
You might have seen the news that the United States Postal Service is in danger of running out of money, and the GOP is refusing to fund it.
I don’t know about you, but I’m very troubled by this news. The Postal Service is an essential part of public life in my district -- keeping our remote communities connected, helping voters participate in our elections, and delivering goods like food and life-saving medications.
Losing the Postal Service would be a tragedy, so I’ve started this petition. Will you sign on and tell federal leaders to protect the Postal Service and make sure it has the funding it needs? >> [link removed]
The Postal Service has taken on an even bigger role during this pandemic.
At a time when we’re being asked to stay home and avoid public spaces like stores, millions have relied on the Postal Service to send and receive goods.
What’s become clearer by the day is that the Postal Service will also be instrumental in facilitating our 2020 elections process as polling locations shut down. Republican threats to defund the Post Office in an election year reeks of the kind of political maneuvering the American people are disgusted with.
We need to come together and stop this:
If you have a moment, please join me in calling on the federal government to fund the Postal Services and keep it running. Sign on here >> [link removed]
Thank you,
Chris
A note about contributions to our campaign: We believe it's so important — now more than ever -- to send leaders to Congress with healthcare backgrounds who will be a part of the solution when it comes to public health.
We also understand times are tough. So please take care of yourself and your loved ones, and only consider contributing to our campaign if you can afford to do so.
