I’m proud to be on the House Appropriations Committee, which has one of the most important jobs in Congress—ensuring that our taxpayer dollars are used responsibly.

This week, I voted to pass three funding bills that make strong investments in our homeland security while preventing government funds from being used on far-left priorities. Read more below ⬇️.

Fighting for our Border Communities

On Friday, the U.S. House of Representatives passed strong legislation that invests in border security and combats illegal immigration. I'm proud that many of the priorities I worked on were included in the final version of the bill.

Our district spans two-thirds of the Texas-Mexico border. I will always fight to keep our communities safe.

Strengthening America's Defense

This week, the FY25 Defense Appropriations Act also passed in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill invests in our military, defends against America's adversaries, and prioritizes our servicemembers and their families.

Just as importantly, it eliminates funding for woke agenda items that do not align with the Department of Defense's purpose: ensuring peace through strength.

Delivering for Texas Agriculture

Under a long-standing treaty, Mexico has an obligation to share water with the United States. This agreement is critical for our border farmers and ranchers, and yet Mexico has held out on its end of the deal.

To fix this, I helped include policies in the FY25 State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act that holds Mexico accountable for sending its fair share of water to the United States.
