The plastic industry's deception is fueling an out-of-control waste crisis.
Plastic producers have known for decades that most of their products aren't being recycled -- and that most aren't recyclable at all. But the plastic industry chose to spread misinformation about recycling's effectiveness.1
We now know that we can't recycle our way out of this crisis. We need real solutions to reverse the impact of industry deception and confront plastic pollution.

- Five states have also passed laws that require producers of packaging to pay fees to fund collection and disposal of their products -- a vital step toward reducing the impact of the plastics industry's decades-long deception.3
- Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, ships out millions of items wrapped in wasteful packaging each day -- but together we helped convince Amazon to phase out single-use padded plastic shipping bags and plastic air pillows.
