If your inbox looks anything like mine, then I suspect you find the arrival of this email less than thrilling, especially since it’s Sunday. So I’ll try to be brief(-ish).

To be completely upfront: I’m reaching out because we have a vital FEC deadline in just a few hours, and I am absolutely determined to hit our fundraising goal. Our whole team has been working all weekend to get there, and we’re close. If you could make a donation and help us close the gap, I’d so, so appreciate it.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

But if you need more convincing, or you think maybe this deadline is just a gimmick, let me explain why it is genuinely very important that we make this a blowout weekend when it comes to grassroots donations.

First of all, our fundraising numbers become public after this deadline. If they look weak, then National Republicans are going to dump every last dollar into Kansas to try to defeat me, and we’ll be at risk of having our message drowned out.

Second, we’re going to make critical campaign decisions based on our success before this deadline. We need to reserve TV ad space while we still can, and start hiring organizers who can help get our message out across KS-03. But we can only do that if we go into the summer with the financial resources to pay for it.

And finally, I’m asking you to get involved not just to defeat extremists, but to invest in our positive vision for the future.

Despite the challenges we face, we’ve made so much progress together. I’m proud of my record delivering lower drug costs, real climate action, bipartisan gun safety legislation, and good-paying clean-energy jobs for Kansas.

And I’m proud that, as Congress’s only LGBTQ+ Native American woman, I’m using my voice to fight for communities that often go overlooked in the halls of power.

But there’s so much more work to do — from restoring abortion rights across this country, to reducing costs for hardworking families who are struggling today.

This weekend is a pivotal moment in our fight to keep making progress, and my team and I are treating it like one. If you’re with me, and you’re able to give, I’d be so grateful for your support today.

Thanks for everything,
