We don’t want to worry you first thing in the morning, but we have no choice but to share this with you. The truth is our fundraising has not picked up as much as we had hoped at this point.

John xxxxxx,

The truth is our fundraising has not picked up as much as we had hoped at this point.

Here’s a look at our fundraising since the general election started:

It’s urgent that we pick up our pace. Can you pitch in £5 today to fund the final stretch of our campaign?

We always expected the fundraising dip in the middle of the campaign and planned accordingly. The energy at the start of this campaign was huge — the chance to give the Tories the boot was finally here.

But we need the final week to look a lot more like the first week. So the timing of this slowdown is not great.

If our fundraising stays where it is now, this week could see the Tories successfully snatch away millions of undecided voters from Labour. We need to be able to compete.

The good news is we still have time to close that gap. But it’s going to take lots and lots of people like you giving whatever you can.

So please:

Make a £5 contribution or whatever you can spare today to bring a Labour victory over the line. This is important.
