We know we've sent a number of emails about tonight's FEC fundraising deadline, and we know we're not the only ones. So we wanted to take a moment of your time to explain why these messages are so important.
Here's the deal:
When Ilhan first ran for Congress in 2018 and decided to reject all money from corporate PACs and special interest lobbyists, she knew that meant leaving a lot of money on the table. That's okay.
We knew that the only way we could run a campaign that stuck true to our progressive values was to fund it by that same example. We also knew that if lots and lots of people chipped in what they could, we'd have enough resources to win.
We were right. It worked in 2018, it worked in 2020, and it worked again in 2022. And we need it to work once more here in 2024.
But what you may not have known is that a huge portion of our campaign's fundraising comes in response to emails like this one.
That's why these emails are so important — and it's why we hope you don't take them as an annoyance, but as a sign of how critical your grassroots support is to our success.
