Hi folks, it’s Josh Stein, Democratic nominee for governor in battleground North Carolina. My race against an anti-abortion, anti-women, Trump-endorsed candidate was recently classified as a toss-up, so I want to get straight to the point: I need your help.

Today is the last day of the quarter, marking a critically important public reporting deadline. With fewer than five months left until this election, polls show my extremist opponent and me TIED. Will you rush $3 before midnight and have your donation split between my campaign and the Democratic Governors Association?

Folks, I want to tell you a bit about myself and who I’m up against.

Throughout my life, I’ve dedicated myself to serving the people of North Carolina – as an economic developer, consumer protection lawyer, legislator, and Attorney General. In each of these roles, I have taken on the big fights and won – standing up for our most fundamental rights and freedoms and defending the interests of North Carolinians at every turn. Now, I’m ready to do the same as Governor of North Carolina. I want to invest in our students and public schools, preserve reproductive health care access, and keep our communities safe.

On the other hand, my opponent Mark Robinson has dedicated himself to chaos and extremism:

He’s called public educators “wicked people” and has boasted that he has “AR-15s in case the government gets too big for its britches.”

He’s pushing for a total abortion ban without exceptions – even in cases of rape or incest.

And he’ll strip public school funding and undermine our teachers – he even wants to repeal the Affordable Care Act with no replacement.

But here’s the thing: winning won’t be easy. The polls show this race is neck-and-neck.

That means there’s a lot riding on this end-of-quarter reporting deadline, especially with Robinson on the ballot. Right-wing national Republicans who support him are going to do everything they can (including spending big $$$) to flip this seat from blue to red, and they’re not stopping at North Carolina – they’ll send their resources anywhere there’s an extremist on the ballot, including federally to Donald Trump.

So when a grassroots supporter like you steps up to power this fight, it’s more proof that we’re building a campaign capable of defeating the GOP’s money machine and winning this competitive race. Please, John, will you rush $3 or more before midnight to help us end the quarter with strong fundraising numbers?
